Meeting with our guide at Piazza Eremitani, in the city center, to visit the Scovegni Chapel, dedicated to St. Mary of the Charity and frescoed between 1303 and 1305 by Giotto, that is one of the most important masterpieces of Western art. The frescoes, which narrate the events in the lives of the Virgin Mary and Christ, cover the entire walls. On the wall opposite to the altar there is the grandiose Universal Judgement, which concludes the story of the human salvation.
The chapel will be reserved for you so that you will be able to visit it exclusively. A rare opportunity, organised just for you!
After the visit you will walk through the city center visiting the most famous squares and admiring from the outside the most important monuments: Palazzo della Ragione, Palazzo del Bo, Caffè Pedrocchi, Piazza Duomo.
At the end of the tour you will visit the Basilica del Santo, a temple of faith and a treasure trove of art works, attracting millions of pilgrims and tourists every year. Inside the Basilica you can admire the magnificent freascos of Altichiero da Zevio, in the Crucifixions Chappel, Pietro Aniigoni, in Chapel of the Blessings, Stefano da Ferrara, Giusto dei Menabuoi in the Belludi Chappel.
